WEATHER CLOSING, DELAYS AND EARLY DISMISSALS

Onionpatch Infant and Day Care Centre will follow all weather decisions made by the Bermuda Weather Service and Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) in conjunction with the Bermuda Public School System.

Any time the Emergency Measures Organization in conjunction with the Bermuda Public School System decides to close, delay opening, or dismiss early, Onionpatch Infant and Day Care Centre will follow the same schedule.

If the public schools release early due to inclement weather, you should listen for announcements on all the local radio stations including HOTT 107.5, Power 95 and VBS 1450. Announcements may also be seen on our website, facebook page and via email.

All preschool children need to be picked¬ up immediately upon the announcement of early dismissal.

Procedure
1. EMO issues a warning requiring evacuation of the Onionpatch facility
2. Staff are to contact parents via telephone as soon as practical
3. Person in Charge should contact owners to ensure information gets out to the radio and television station.
4. As much as possible, all loose paper and items should be secured in a drawer or cabinet.
5. All electrical devices should be unplugged.
6. Staff should ensure all students have been handed over to their parent or guardian
7. Staff should ensure all students have left the facility before closing the doors
8. Staff are to ensure that the school is secure before leaving the premises. Please lock all doors and turn off the lights.

All staff will be given ample time to leave the premises and seek shelter prior to any major storm activity.
