The Onionpatch Academy wholeheartedly embraces the principles and philosophy of the 7 Habits. It is in direct relation to our core values, creed and motto.

"What I am looking for is not out there, it is within me." - Helen Keller

7 habits

Be proactive -being courteous, using your manners, smiling, have a sense of humor, communicate effectively whether verbal or non verbal (body language, facial expressions), listening effectively, problem solving and stress management.

7 habits

Begin with the end in mind –what do I want to accomplish by this activity. What are my objectives for the day, the week? What do I want my students to be able to do at the end of this lesson, this week?

7 habits

Put first things first –develop a plan/outline for your day or even the time you have set aside to do you lesson planning. Organize your day so that you can accomplish what you set out to – meet your objectives.

7 habits

Think win-win –everyone’s opinion is valuable. Stop looking at the next person as your competition but rather your teammate, someone you can learn from and who can learn from you.

7 habits

Seek first to understand and then to be understood –take the time to share with each other regarding your lesson plans, student issues and concerns. Help to create an environment that is mutual trust, respect and understanding and less negative, judgmental and critical.

7 habits

Synergize –together everyone achieves more

7 habits

Sharpen the saw –be healthy in mind, body and spirit. Find your peace and inner joy.
